CROOK BUNKHOUSE

Developing a range of hospitality venues with the local community

The Crook Inn was closed to the public in 2006 after over 400 years of operation as an Inn. A community buyout occurred at the end of 2012, with WTA subsequently starting work on designs for Crook Inn, the wider site and outbuildings as a range of hospitality venues. Whilst fundraising is ongoing for the redevelopment of the main Crook Inn building, the community has successfully secured surrounding land and buildings. Additional projects include the Wee Crook cafe which was completed in May 2022 and our current project for the TCC, The Crook Bunkhouse. The newly-built Bunkhouse replaces a dilapidated building and will provide overnight accommodation for up to 20 paying guests. This highly sustainable new building will complement the Wee Crook Cafe, which provides a welcoming community space for local residents and visitors alike.
