Passive House: Sharing knowledge

P A S S I V E   H O U S E   S U M M A R Y   S H E E T S

Responding to climate and biodiversity crisis is by necessity a collective endeavour. We believe that it is vital to do all we can to support one another in rising to the challenges we face as we explore new ways of approaching the design and construction of sustainable buildings. In that spirit of support we will be sharing a range of information we hope will be useful to others as we all embark on the urgent task of meeting embodied and operational carbon targets.

The first piece of information we’d like to share are six Passive House summary sheets as PDF. Their original size is A3 although if your eyesight is good you will be able to read them at A4 as well. You are welcome to save and share these widely. We hope you find this helpful!

Sheet 1: Passivhaus and EnerPHit Certification Criteria, Passivhaus Measurement Terms and Factors, Passive House Economics, Passive House Renewables.

Sheet 2: Building - Construction Materials, Components and Composites (construction build ups), Typical thermal conductivity, Typical Passive House U-values, Typical non PH Window U-values, Thermal Comfort and Windows.

Sheet 3: Climate/ Environment/ Location, Domestic heating and hot water, Air-tightness and Ventilation.

Sheet 4: Building - MVHR, Ventilation and MVHR for Calculations

Sheet 5: Energy Balance Equations, Heat Demand and Heat Load definitions, Annual Space Heating Load Energy Balance Equation.

Sheet 6: Annual Space Heating Demand Energy Balance Equation together with U-value formulas for general components as well as for windows. Information has been collated from the @Mosart course and the Passive House Institute website. If anyone spots any errors or typos please let us know. . .
