Aspect Cinema

WT Architecture’s cinema series celebrating architecture in film.

We believe that the practice of architecture is not about just bricks and mortar but the life that fills buildings. Changing light, moving sound, the stories that unfold in architectural space: on screen we see these things and the successes, failures, struggles and celebrations that give architecture purpose brought to life.

ASPECT:Cinema was an initiative conceived and ran by WTArchitecture between 2018-2021 to take a closer look at architecture in film, through a creative and collaborative film series curated by our team. Born from the Architecture Fringe Festival 2018, ASPECT:Cinema hosted screenings, online events and discussions uncovering and exploring the personal and collective connections to architecture which drive our practice.

The craft of film-making, art, architecture, community, conservation, wellbeing….. together with our growing community of those engaging with architecture through film, we explored these and many other themes. Through ASPECT:Cinema we aimed to inspire, intrigue and inform and make a place of welcome for a collective look at what architecture can mean to us.

Here is a selection of some of the beautiful and thought-provoking films we screened.
